EU Green Party calls for ECHA to ensure no missing safety data in REACH dossiers
Green MEPs have welcomed the first REACH deadline as a "milestone for health and environment protection", but said the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) needed to be vigilant and ensure that manufacturers have provided all relevant safety data. "If 50% of assessed registration dossiers continue to fall short of standards, as was reported by ECHA earlier this year, then REACH is bound to fail, as the Agency is only required to check 5% of all dossiers," said Swedish Green MEP Carl Schlyter. http://www.greens-efa.org/cms/pressreleases/dok/363/363533.eu_chemicals_rules_reach@en.htm
