ECHA publishes information on REACH amendments resulting from CLP
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has noted that a number of amendments to the REACH Regulation took place on 1 December 2010 - immediately after the first registration deadline - as a result of provisions in the classification, labelling and packaging Regulation. The agency says the amendments, written in Article 58 of the CLP Regulation, impact information required for registering substances. Registration dossiers submitted from now on will have to include: · Information on classification and labelling according to the criteria specified in Article 58.11 of the CLP Regulation · The dissemination of information taking into account the hazard criteria established by Article 58.7 of the CLP Regulation · The content of the chemical safety report will also be impacted by the hazard criteria established in Article 58.1 of the CLP Regulation To help registrants with the new provisions, ECHA has released updated versions of a number of manuals and tools. These include: · Data Submission Manual 5 - How to complete a technical dossier for registrations and PPORD notifications · Technical completeness check plug in · Fee calculation plug in In addition, ECHA has published Questions & Answers on the impact of the CLP Regulation on registration dossiers submitted from 1 December 2010.
